It looks as though Netflix is planning an upcoming Wednesday spin-off.According to Bloomberg, the online streamer has latched onto the popularity of its Addams Family spinoff, and it’s now going to be getting a spinoff of its very own.Wednesday was reportedly so popular that Netflix began discussing a second season “within weeks” of its Season 1 debut. However, before a second season can be put into production, it’s said that Netflix is now discussing another Addams Family show, this time focussing on Uncle Fester, who’s played by Fred Armisen on the hit show.Fester’s involvement in Season 1 was an absolute delight, with Armisten channelling some of the original quirkiness of the character while adding his own grim twist. It’s certainly easy to see why Netflix would be interested in seeing more of him.“As with any TV show in development, there is no guarantee the Uncle Fester show will ever happen,” said reporter Lucas Shaw. “The writers have to figure out the story, the company needs to negotiate contracts with talent, and the schedules of the individuals must align.”However, Netflix is clearly eager to capitalize on Wednesday’s success and is said to be keen to establish its own Addams Family universe. Recently, Wednesday star Jenna Ortega hinted that Season 2 of the hit show will lean more into its horror roots.“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more,” Ortega revealed. “Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously.”IGN’s Wednesday review gave it 7/10 and said: “Wednesday introduces a whole new generation to the Addams family with creepy and kooky hijinks and an incredible performance from Jenna Ortega.
