Switch 2 Leaks Reveal New Specifications for the Upcoming Console, and More



The Nintendo Switch 2 or the Switch successor has become the talk of the town since the upcoming console was officially announced through a tweet by the President of the company. Since the announcement, players have been highly enthusiastic about learning more about the device, especially what it will sport under the hood. Interestingly, some specifications have been leaked for the upcoming console recently, learn more below.

Switch 2 Leaked Specifications
The first leak comes from the discussion forum, Famiboards (via Tom’s Guide). In the forum, we see that one of the users has figured out some of the specifications for the next model of Switch by going through customs and shipment data that was collected from companies like Nvidia, Nintendo and more.

Through the data, it was learned that the upcoming console will feature 12GB RAM through 2x 6GB LPDDR5X modules. Moreover, the RAM will have a transfer speed of 7,500 MT/s and the device will include 256GB of UFS 3.1 Storage.

Switch 2 mockup model
The second leak comes popular Pokemon leak source, CentroLeaks. Their latest post on X (formerly Twitter) includes a mockup model of the Switch 2, sitting in the middle of the original Switch and the Steam Deck. It seems the Switch successor will have an 8-inch display according to the leak and will have a slightly bigger form factor than the original console, but still smaller than the Steam Deck. CentroLeaks also revealed that the upcoming console and controllers will have built-in microphones too.

Nintendo Nominates 3 Women for Board of Directors
In other Nintendo news, a report by Game File reveals that the company has decided to give names of 3 women in nominations for board of directors. Yusuke Beppu, Miyoko Demay, Eiko Osawa and Keiko Akashi are the three women nominated, who are being nominated alongside Asa Shinkawa.

This is a positive move given Nintendo’s long history of gender bias. Having been established in 1889, the company has only had one woman member in its board of directors in its 130-year history, and the addition was fairly recent as well with the appointment taking place in 2020.
