Starfield’s SteamDB Update History Hints Towards an Imminent Announcement

Bethesda is hard at work to bring back the players to their last year’s space exploration-based RPG, Starfield. The devs have been releasing periodic patches with bug fixes and new features, along with that they have an expansion called Shattered Space on the horizon too. However, we do not have a release date for it yet, and we only know that it will arrive in Fall 2024. Interestingly, recent developments on their SteamDB page hint towards an announcement, and we might be receiving a release date for DLC during the Xbox Showcase.

A user on the r/Starfield subreddit (via The Gamer) has spotted something intriguing in the changelog for the game. If you head over to the SteamDB page of the game and view the Update History section at the very bottom, then you will see that Bethesda has been adding a whole bunch of changes in recent times. The latest one was posted today, June 4, 2024, almost 40 minutes ago at the time of writing, and that is not all.

If you scroll down to the very end, you will observe a pattern. The game has been receiving changes multiple times a day, almost every day since May 24, 2024. Players suspect that these many changes could only point towards one thing and that is the DLC. This is why it is being speculated that an announcement for Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion’s release date should be out soon. And, the closest event right now is the Xbox Showcase, which will go live on June 9, 2024. In the end, players should know that this is based on assumptions and not a confirmation, so take it with a grain of salt.
