Star Rail Version 2.0 Release Date Revealed; Here Are the Details, Including Playable Characters, a New Realm and More
Honkai: Star Rail’s Version 2.0 update is coming on February 6, 2024. The turn-based role-playing gacha video game’s update release date was revealed during the If One Dreams At Midnight Special Program Livestream on January 26. Here’s everything players can expect with the arrival of the new update.
For starters, the highly-anticipated Penacony realm is being introduced, and it will come alongside the main Trailblaze Missions. Developer miHoYo (the team also behind Genshin Impact) has also revealed that the Trailblaze Missions will persist from version 2.0 to 2.2, and its epilogue will arrive in version 2.3.
The Penacony region is also known as the Planet of Festivities and is part of the Asdana star system where the Family resides. Key points of interest in the Penacony region are Reverie hotel, Moment of Scorchsand, Moment of Stars, and Moment of Daybreak.

Gamers can also look forward to three new playable characters which are Black Swan, Sparkle, and Misha. There are also limited 5-star characters Dan Heng, Imbibitor Lunae and Jing Yuan slated to arrive in the first and second phases of the upcoming version’s events.
There are also new features coming with Version 2.0 such as Quick Enhance for Relics, allowing players to instantly level up Relics to a desired level. Salvaging 5-Star Relics into Lost Gold Fragments or Relic Remains will also be possible with the new update, and you can now discard Relics.
A couple of quality-of-life changes such as refining specifications through the filter function, the introduction of new universal Path material to activate Traces when required materials are not available. You can find a more detailed look in our previous coverage about the upcoming update.
