The classic sci-fi mecha media franchise Macross, which consists of several anime series, films, and OVAs, will be available to stream on Disney+ worldwide by the end of 2024.
The announcement was made by the official Macross website on March 18 (via Anime News Network). However, the first two anime series in the franchise, 1982’s Super Dimension Fortress Macross series and 1984’s Macross: Do You Remember Love? film will not be streaming outside of Japan. They are both marked as “Limited distribution in Japan” on the website.

This will bring in renewed and fresh interest into the classic series, which has never been available in many regions around the world. This comes after a long dispute spanning a decade over the rights of the series, with involved companies Big West, Studio Nue, and Harmony Gold USA reaching an agreement in 2021 to distribute the series worldwide.
