Sony PlayStation 5 Slim is reportedly coming to India in May 2024, around seven months after its release in the US. Gamers who have been eagerly waiting for the console’s release may finally see the latest version of PS5 arrive in India soon for purchase. Here’s more information.
The report comes from Rishi Alwani, a prominent games market analyst. He said in a post that Indian gamers can expect the PS5 Slim to “hit the shelves in the next couple of months.” He added that the rumoured release month is May 2024. Rishi Alwani revealed this information in the reply of a tweet by user @PS5India. The user reported that the PS5 Slim had received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards on January 17, 2024.

Alwani was also asked in the replies if there is going to similar delay in the availability of the rumoured PS5 Pro. “Given Sony’s track record in India, you’re better off getting the PS5 Pro outside of official channels if you want it on day one,” suggested Rishi Alwani. The suggestion by Alwani is also not far-stretched since the Indian market typically receives new PS hardware much later than the European and North American markets. However, the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro is yet to be officially announced, so it is bound to be some time before the device enters the market.

Sony PlayStation 5 Slim was announced on October 10, 2023, and the most obvious differential with the standard version is the size, as it is smaller and lighter. Furthermore, the standard PS5 had 825GB in-built storage, but the PS5 Slim comes with 1TB storage.
