The finale kicked off with PRX picking Lotus as the first map and they displayed dominance in the early rounds. However, Gen.G began to pick up pace and the first half of the match ended with things level at 6-6. Gen.G continued to make use of the momentum and won five consecutive rounds in the second round, and ultimately won the match.

Gen.G, fresh off the first win, picked Sunset as the second game’s map, but PRX managed to secure a win. The third match at Icebox was a pretty close match but it ultimately swung in the favor of PRX who won 13-11.

With PRX winning two games in a row, Gen.G stepped up in Game 4 at Bind when secured a deserved 13-9 win, despite a clutch Ace play from Paper Rex’s Wang Jing “Jinggg” Jie.

Game 5 became the final decider as the two teams went head-to-head on Split map. While PRX was trailing by 5-7 in the first half, it was still an impressive showing as they were playing on offence in a map considered to be suited for defenders. When it came to Gen.G to attack, they could not secure similar results, and eventually lost to PRX.

PRX were crowned VCT Pacific Stage 1 Champions while their star player Jinggg was named MVP of the Grand Finals series. This victory means PRX is the Pacific’s first seed and will now play directly in the VCT Masters Shanghai playoffs and PRX will also have the chance to choose their opponent for the first match. They’ll be joined by Gen.G and T1 at Masters Shanghai who finished second and third respectively at VCT Pacific Stage 1.

VCT Masters Shanghai will start on May 23, 2024 and run until June 6, 2024.
