OnePlay Launches OneSpace Cloud PC Subscription Service and Here Is Why It Could Matter to Gamers
In the absence of cloud gaming services from global industry leaders such as Nvidia, Microsoft, and Sony, some new local players have emerged in India in the last 3-4 years. OnePlay, one of the newer players, has rolled out several new features and improvements to its cloud gaming subscription service in the last few months.
The company also celebrated its first anniversary in April 2024 with a teaser of its cloud service known as “OneSpace”. Now, OnePlay has finally launched OneSpace for interested users. As the name suggests, it is a cloud space or a powerful cloud PC for personal work or gaming. As per the announcement, subscribers will be able to access OneSpace through the upcoming WebRTC protocol support for iOS (iPhone) and Linux. As with OnePlay, users can use their web browser or OnePlay app to run OneSpace and access their cloud PC. Here is all you need to know about the service.
OneSpace Hardware Specifications and Future Customisation Options
OneSpace aims to transform gaming by transforming basic PCs into high-end machines suitable for editing, gaming, streaming, and more. The cloud systems available on the service are equipped with the latest CPUs (Ryzen 9 7900X with 8 VCPUs clocked at around 4.3 GHz – 4 Cores and 8 Threads) and GPUs with up to 8GB VRAM.
Other features include up to 24GB DDR5 RAM and up to 256GB SSD storage. Considering an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X comes with 12 Cores and 24 Threads, it is likely that each CPU will service three users. It is also likely that this is just an estimate with the service using the name and the Threads as an estimate of what you will get on the server.
With such hardware, users can experience high-quality graphics along with the latest graphics technologies from Nvidia, such as RTX, DLSS, and Frame Generation. Overall the setup offers excellent performance and flexibility for both gamers and content creators.
Furthermore, OneSpace will bring support for OnePlay which includes its large game library of more than 350+ games. Users will also get the flexibility of customising their experience in the future by tweaking the configuration of their cloud PC to their satisfaction. This includes multiple GPU models, storage capacities and other configurations.
Price in India and Discount
OneSpace will be available at a subscription fee of INR 1299 per month. After the plan ends, users will have seven days to renew their service before OneSpace deletes all their stored data. Early subscribers can access OneSpace for a discounted price of ₹1,199 if they sign up on May 31, 2024. It is worth noting that all the available slots for OneSpace have sold out at the time of writing.
