The initial build (released in February) was not a huge success with fans, as many simply didn’t want to install it. However, the latest App beta update is set to incorporate some of the brand’s most coveted tools into one easy-to-use application. The new update can be downloaded via the app or website and further enhances the NVIDIA App beta, adding G-SYNC controls, RTX HDR multi-monitor support, driver rollback, and more. In previous versions of the NVIDIA App, users were limited to modifications like display resolution, refresh rate, and display orientation. The latest update brings G-SYNC controls from the NVIDIA Control Panel to the “Display Settings” section, allowing users to eliminate screen tearing and minimize display stutter. Future updates are planned to bring the remaining features from NVIDIA Control Panel such as Surround options, custom resolutions, and multi-monitor setup. According to sources, the App will be out of Beta by the end of this year. NVIDIA’s App adds RTX HDR support for Multi-Monitor setups Another key update is the addition of RTX HDR Multi-Monitor support. RTX HDR is an AI-powered game filter that seamlessly brings the vibrant world of High Dynamic Range (HDR) to games without HDR. With RTX-HDR Multi-Monitor support, you can take full advantage of your HDR-compatible monitors and play thousands of SDR games running on DX12, DX11, DX9, and Vulkan with rich colors and improved image quality. With the latest beta update, you can now roll back to previous driver versions directly from the NVIDIA App. This means that if you have installed a driver update via the NVIDIA App and it’s giving you trouble, you can roll back to a more stable version right away. Apart from the major changes introduced in the NVIDIA App beta update, NVIDIA also added a few new additions from user feedback. The Heads Up Display receives an accessibility update, allowing users to customize font color for improved visibility. You can now also apply optimal settings via the NVIDIA App for all your games and apps, or configure them per-app basis. Additionally, sorting and filtering games and apps persists in the new app with other options like hiding or manually removing programs also present. Finally, the NVIDIA App overlay will now notify users if restricted Digital Rights Management (DRM) content prevents ShadowPlay video recording. The NVIDIA App will be exiting beta and launching soon NVIDIA has confirmed that the NVIDIA App will be exiting beta by the end of this year and will be officially launching as NVIDIA’s all-in-one tool pretty soon.
