Jujutsu Kaisen Is ‘World’s Most Popular Anime’ According to Guinness World Records

Jujutsu Kaisen has been recognised as the world’s most in-demand animated TV show, as per Guinness World Records.

The series, produced by studio MAPPA, has wrested the title from Attack on Titan, which had held it since 2020. With the conclusion of Attack on Titan in November 2023, Jujutsu Kaisen surged to the forefront, especially with its highly anticipated Season 2 that wrapped up in December 2023.

As per data from the data-science firm Parrot Analytics, Jujutsu Kaisen has achieved a global demand rating in 2023 that surpasses the average TV show by a staggering 71.2 times. This demand rating is calculated based on the level of “attention, engagement, desire, and viewership” expressed by consumers towards the content.

This indicates that Jujutsu Kaisen enjoys the highest levels of video consumption, social media engagement, and research actions, including searching for and reading about the show.

One Piece held the second position in terms of demand, followed by Attack on Titan. However, with the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 in December, its popularity rose to 128 times the demand of the average show on December 29.

The majority of Jujutsu Kaisen viewers fall within the 13–22 age group, accounting for 71.3% of the audience. In comparison, One Piece and Attack on Titan have 56.7% and 64.4% of their audience within this demographic, respectively.
