Internal Google Database Reveals That a Contractor Was Behind Announcement Leaks

An internal Google database containing six years of information has revealed that a Google contractor misused their access to view a private YouTube video uploaded by Nintendo. This later indirectly resulted in the information being shared online.

A new Yoshi game (probably Woolly World 2) is going to be announced for Switchby innintendo

As reported by 404 Media on June 3, the database mentioned above consisted of privacy and security issues reported internally by Google employees. The report outlined that a Google contractor used their admin privileges to access private information from Nintendo’s YouTube account about the game in 2017.

After the misuse of the access, a Reddit user shared a post about an unannounced Yoshi game for the Nintendo Switch. It included a screenshot showing thumbnails for a video titled “Yoshi for Nintendo Switch”. The image also consisted of a URL starting with “www.admin.youtube.com”, indicating that it is a Google corporate login page. For context, the game in question is the Nintendo title, “Yoshi’s Crafted World” that released in 2019.

The Reddit post also contained a comment which claimed that a friend of the poster worked at Google and had shared this photo with them. “It’s a video that is already in Nintendo channel and is going to be in public after the reveal,” added the comment. The summary of the report states that the leak was “non-intentional”.
