The recently announced Intel Core 14th Gen i9-14900KS, their highest-tier desktop processor in the new series has become the world’s fastest desktop processor retaining the title from the 13th gen. The new Intel Core 14th Gen i9-14900KS is the fastest desktop processor, thanks to its 6.2GHz max turbo frequency to provide the best gaming and content-creating experience there is. This is higher than the 6.0 GHz that came with the previous gen Core i9-13900Ks. On top of that, the CPU also has 24 cores which includes 8 Performance-cores and 16 Efficient-cores, 32 Threads, 150-watt processor base power, 36MB of Intel Smart Cache and 20 PCle lanes.

The new Intel Core 14th Gen i9-14900KS is 15% better in performance than the previous gen in terms of gaming, thanks to Intel’s Application Performance Optimization feature (APO). Moreover, it also provides up to 11% performance uplift in 14 supported titles. The new processor will be able to provide “performance improvement in compute-intensive workflows, such as 3D production multitasking versus competition.” This was measured by Unreal Engine 5 MetaHuman & CapturingReality RealityCapture Multitasking Virtual Production Workflow on an Intel Core.

Furthermore, the processor will also have support for up to 192GB of DDR5 5600 megatransfers per second (MT/s) or DDR4 3200 MT/s memory. Last but not least, the processor will also be compatible with Z790 and Z690 motherboards.
