Here Are IGN India’s Picks That You Need To Watch Out for in the Year




2023 was a great year in gaming, bringing us stupidly amazing titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Alan Wake II. 2023 has now ended, however, and now we look forward to gaming in 2024. The upcoming year has some exciting titles for players to look forward to and here are IGN India’s top picks for games coming in 2024 along with some honourable mentions.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Ubisoft’s upcoming action-adventure platformer, based on the beloved franchise, will be kicking off in 2024. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown arrives on January 18, 2024, for almost all platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC and Amazon Luna. Get ready for some exciting time-based combat in a world inspired by Persian Mythology. Pre-order here.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Not even a week after that, we will be delivering a highly anticipated instalment to the Like a Dragon series through Infinite Wealth. The beat ‘em up RPG adventure brings two heroes to experience the fast-paced RPG battles where you use the environment to your advantage. On top of that, you get to Japan and Hawaii, filled with new adventures, quests and activities to enjoy. Tekken 8
Just two days after that, we will be provided with the next big thing in the fighting genre, Tekken 8. Tekken 8 will continue the storyline we love and have grown with and this time we will see Jin team up with a seemingly disappeared mother to take down his father and end his reign once and for all. The new title has been developed for the current gen of gaming and comes with 32 redesigned characters along with a new Heat gameplay system. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
In the following month, we will be graced with the newest instalment to the Arkhamverse, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Rocksteady Studios brings brand new characters to their carefully crafted universe in this upcoming third-person action shooter. The Suicide Squad includes Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark as playable characters and you get to cause mayhem in an open-world Metropolis. Your main goal in the title is one thing, and that is killing off the Justice League. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League arrives for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC on February 2. Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster
The 1995 FPS Star Wars title finally receives a remaster next month, thanks to Nightdive Studios, players will be able to enjoy Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster at 4K 60 FPS along with upgraded gameplay, lighting and graphics. It will come with all the 14 original levels along with the Star Wars Worlds and Capital Ships, the game will have gamepad support for weapon wheels and rumble along with vibration and gyro controls. The title releases on February 28, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Wishlist here.

Dragon’s Dogma 2
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the next big title and this one is a single-player, narrative-driven, action RPG. Your choice is key in this game as you can decide everything, from your appearance to your journey, your party and more and like all choices, these will have consequences too. The players will be able to wield swords, bows and also magic while combatting enemies. Their final goal is to “slay the dragon and claim the throne’. The title arrives for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on March 22, 2024.

Black Myth: Wukong
Next up is Black Myth: Wukong a completely new title that is rooted in Chinese Mythology. The game will see you play as the monkey king, who is a small part of a dynamic world. The game promises some thought-providing dialogues that come from Journey to the West, one of the four great classical novels from Chinese Literature, and will also include immersive gameplay, highest quality graphics and a top-notch storyline. The game is scheduled to arrive on August 20, 2024, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Wishlist here.

Warzone Mobile
Then we come to the first mobile gaming title from the list, which is anticipated to create waves in the industry. Warzone Mobile is scheduled to arrive in the spring of 2024 for Android and iOS devices. We do not have a concrete release date at the moment, but we do know that it will see the arrival of beloved maps such as Verdansk and Rebirth Island, along with new maps in the future. On top of that, it will have several game modes like its PC and Console counterpart. Their battle passes will be intertwined, however, we will not have cross-play.

Horizon Forbidden West PC
Another title that players are waiting for in 2024 is the PC port for Horizon Forbidden West. This will end up increasing PlayStation’s roster of exclusive titles and also bring a solid title to a brand new platform. This is even more anticipated as the previous title was released for PC more than three years ago and the upcoming title has been built for the current gen of gaming hardware. We cannot wait to see the likes of Shrek embody the role of Aloy after the modding community gets their hands on it. Horizon Forbidden West PC doesn’t have a set release date at the moment.

Star Wars Outlaws
Last but not least Ubisoft’s take on the Star Wars franchise with Star Wars Outlaws. Star Wars Outlaws will be the first open-world title for the franchise and the game has been set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Players will get to explore several planets and asteroids eh put in the shoes of Kay Vids, who with her companion Nix is living the outlaw life.

The trailer that was released earlier this year at the Xbox Showcase in June remains fresh in our minds, and we cannot wait to ride the speeder bike shown in the trailer. Players will also have some high-risk high-reward missions to take on which include outlaw work and they can also pilot their ship, the Trailblazer. The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but we do know it will arrive sometime in 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

Honourable Mentions
There are some titles that you need to talk about when having a conversation about games coming in 2024, apart from the ones already mentioned above. Mario vs Donkey Kong is a hotly anticipated title for the Nintendo Switch Fans. We will finally receive a new Final Fantasy 7 instalment through Rebirth. Xbox is cooking up something massive with their upcoming exclusive, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. Talking about exclusives, Sony is planning to take us on an all-new samurai adventure through Rise of Ronin. Lastly, the next-gen sequel to the award winning immersive-sim, first-person horror title arrives in Q1 2024 through S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
