Helldivers 2 Community Working Hard To Restore Positive Reviews on Steam; Arrowhead CEO Confirms Cape Design Reflecting Review-Dip Is Coming

Arrowhead’s Helldivers 2 has been through a rollercoaster ride lately, thanks to Sony’s decision to make PSN account linking mandatory for PC players. After over 200,000 negative Steam reviews in less than 2 days, Sony pivoted and rolled back on its decision. However, the damage to Steam reviews remains and the Helldivers 2 community has taken it upon themselves to do a bit of clean up to maintain the game’s popularity and reputation.

Major Order: Operation Clean Upbyu/OmegaXesis inHelldivers

The Helldivers 2 community has initiated a plan where they are trying to turn the negative Steam reviews into positive ones. Spotted by Exputer, the community on Reddit has created its own version of a Major Order, calling it “Operation Clean Up”. The post on Reddit about it is asking players who put in a negative review solely because of the PSN incident to turn their review back into a positive one. It has been emphasised that the gamers have shown it to Arrowhead and Sony that the fans’ voice matters, and now it is time to undo the damage dealt to the Helldivers 2 Steam reviews page.

It seems to be working as well, since the recent reviews section states a “Mixed” rating instead of the“Overwhelmingly Negative” rating it had attained during the PSN fiasco. Before this incident, Helldivers 2 had a “Mostly Positive” rating for recent reviews, and it still has an overall “Mostly Positive” rating to show off.

Helldivers 2 negative reviews cape design is coming
During all of this, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt highlighted an “accidental” cape design from a community member, which reflects the dip in review scores that Helldivers 2 experienced on Steam. While it was pointed out as a quick joke to lighten the mood, it seems like the community is interested in actually having this score-dip design on a cape that they can wear.

It also did not take fans long to talk Pilestedt into it, who has confirmed that the team is working on it, and that the cape will arrive for free.

The team is taking about a good name for it right now.
