Sony Interactive Entertainment’s God of War is currently discounted by 50% on Steam, reducing the game’s price to ₹1,649 until December 21. This marks the lowest price the game has been offered for on the store thus far.
The game, developed by Santa Monica Studio, diverges from Greek mythology and instead takes inspiration from Norse mythology, taking place in ancient Scandinavia’s realm of Midgard. It centres around the father-son duo of Kratos, the former Greek God of War, and his young son Atreus. Their journey is driven by Kratos’ second wife Faye’s dying wish, requesting her ashes be scattered atop the highest peak across the nine realms.
Throughout their journey, they encounter both familiar friends and adversaries from Norse mythology. Notably, Kratos keeps Atreus’s true identity a secret from him during their travels.
God of War originally debuted on April 20, 2018, exclusively for the PlayStation 4. However, it extended its reach with a PC release on January 14, 2022, marking the first time in the main series that the game was available on a non-PlayStation platform. Jetpack Interactive manages the PC version of God of War, offering features such as DLSS support and ultra-widescreen compatibility.
To smoothly run the game, the minimum system requirements include an Intel i5-2500k (4 core 3.3 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (4 core 3.1 GHz) processor, along with an Nvidia GTX 960 (4 GB) or AMD R9 290X (4 GB) graphics card, and 8GB of RAM.
For optimal performance, the recommended specifications suggest an Intel i5-6600k (4 core 3.5 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 2400 G (4 core 3.6 GHz) CPU, an Nvidia GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD RX 570 (4 GB) GPU. Ensure you have at least 70GB of available space for installation.
