July comes, and with it, Prime Day. This is an excellent opportunity to get some new gear if you are a photographer. Or get something for your photographer friend. Now, I typically don’t recommend getting gear for photographers – we are a picky group – but between Prime Day low prices and Amazon’s return options, the risk is fairly low.

Here is another sure shot. The GoPro HERO12 is the latest model from GoPro, and right now, they are still the unrivaled king of action cams (though DJI is playing hardball). My guess is that a new GoPro is coming soon and they are clearing shelves, which is a great opportunity to get the market leader for $299 (25% off)
HOVERAir X1 Drone
When the Hover X1 was released, we were pretty excited. It is not a drone like the DJI drones. I would consider it more as a flying light stand with a camera attached. If you are producing content for social media, it is a perfect companion. It’s palm-sized, super light, and folds to a tiny package. It follows you around to take photos and videos (2.7K @ 30fps video, or 12MP images). Sony ZV-1F Vlog Camera
It’s not easy to get a camera into this list. Most photographers have a preferred brand, or they are bought into a system. But the Sony ZV-1F is a system of its own. If you are looking for a gimbal for a small or medium mirrorless, the Zhiyun Weebill 3S is a perfect companion.
