Dragon Ball Z Tops Legacy Show Demand, Jujutsu Kaisen Reigns as Most In-Demand TV Series Globally
Dragon Ball Z has been awarded the title of the most in-demand legacy TV show of 2023, as revealed by Parrot Analytics during its 6th Annual Global Demand Awards this week. Another anime, Jujutsu Kaisen, secured the award for the overall most in-demand TV show globally.
Jujutsu Kaisen further secured the title of the Most In-Demand Anime Series in the World for the year 2023. Parrot Analytics says the winner is “determined by global demand data collected from January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023.”
Dragon Ball Z had previously clinched the title back in 2021. The franchise has a dedicated and extensive fandom, as an entire generation worldwide grew up as avid fans. And the series continues to attract new fans to this day.
On the other hand, Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the top shonen anime currently airing. It not only has immense popularity among fans but has also earned critical acclaim and accolades. This praise is attributed to the anime’s faithful adaptation of the source material and Sunghoo Park’s direction in the first season.
This data shows the soaring popularity of anime, positioning it as the most in-demand overall and surpassing non-anime shows. The meteoric ascent of anime’s popularity has propelled it into the mainstream.
Apart from anime, the most in-demand Asian original series award was claimed by the Indian series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The Bollywood movie Pathaan also secured awards across several categories including Overall Movie, Action, and Asian Export.
