Pre-Match Analysis:
Melbourne Stars have already hit a rough patch early on in the tournament suffering humiliating losses against Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers by 103 runs and 7 wickets respectively. The batters flopped completely in both matches where they were able to make only 111 and 101. Even they need to be more disciplined in their bowling. Glenn Maxwell who missed the last game against Scorchers due to a torn forearm muscle is back and will lead the side, experienced batter Joe Burns is available for selection as well.

Sydney Thunder will be extremely disappointed following their 6 wickets loss to Adelaide Strikers in a high-scoring thriller on Tuesday. Cameron Bancroft’s next-level batting at the top and some fine performances in the middle order from Oliver Davies and Alex Ross powered them to a score of 200 on the board however a not-so-great effort from their bowlers in the latter half resulted in their 2nd straight loss. Earlier in their first game they lost Brisbane Heat by 20 runs. Jason Sangha’s return will strengthen their batting department.
