What is the Pitch Report for LAH vs ISL, PSL 2024, Match 1?
It’s a dead batting wicket with less grass cover on it. There will be no swing to offer for the bowlers but they can extract more pace and bounce. It produced plenty of high-scoring contests last season and we can expect the same in this match. Runs on the board first will help at this venue.

Pre-Match Analysis:

The last two edition champions Lahore Qalandars are ready to kick start their journey in this edition of the Pakistan Super League. Like other teams in the competition, they too have been hit with player shortages due to coinciding with T20 leagues such as ILT20 and Bangladesh Premier League. Some of the players are linked with their National squads as well. Sikandar Raza who is currently serving Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 will miss this match. At the same time, Shai Hope who is part of the Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League will join the side in the later stages of the tournament, and Irish wicket-keeper batter Lorcan Tucker will come in place of him as partial replacement. Rashid Khan their spin trump card will be their major missing as he continues to recover from the back surgery. Overseas players Rassie van der Dussen and David Wiese have joined the camp already. Their pace unit is among the best in the tournament having the trio of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Zaman Khan. The batting department has the likes of Fakhar Zaman, Abdullah Shafique, Sahibzada Farhan, and Kamran Ghulam.

Two-time champions, Islamabad United are eyeing their 3rd silverware and first time since 2018. They ended their journey last year with a 12-run loss over Peshawar Zalmi in the Eliminator and there is a huge expectation from Shadab Khan and his Men who look compact in all aspects. Their bowling sensation Naseem Shah has fully recovered from injury and he will be accompanied by his younger brother Ubaid Shah in the pace department. Their overseas stars Jordan Cox, Alex Hales, Colin Munro, and Tymal Mills have arrived after serving their commitments in the ILT20. England all-rounder Tom Curran will skip the competition due to injury while West Indian emerging fast bowler Matthew Forde is likely to join the side in the later stages. Watch out for their all-rounders Imad Wasim, Agha Salman, Faheem Ashraf, and skipper Shadab Khan.
