Skipper KL Rahul’s and renowned T20 specialist Nicholas Pooran’s fighting half-centuries weren’t enough to win the game as Lucknow Super Giants ended up falling short of the target by 20 runs against Rajasthan Royals. Relying more on their less established bowlers, Super Giants didn’t take the early advantage after dismissing Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal inside the powerplay. Their frontline seamers Mohsin Khan, Naveen ul Haq, and Yash Thakur all went more than 10 runs an over which forced skipper Rahul to throw the ball to part-timer Ayush Badoni to bowl an over. Their response wasn’t great while chasing 193 as they lost four wickets inside 8 overs, later the rescue act of an 85-run stand for the fifth between Rahul and Pooran was too late. They have a strong batting line-up but their bowling seems to be an issue at the moment.
