Pre-Match Analysis:
Afghanistan have got positive results when their openers go about their business well but in the last couple of matches it’s the other way round as they lost to West Indies and India badly. They put India under pressure at some point in their first Super 8 contest however that wasn’t enough to collect the full 2 points. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Rashid Khan bowled extremely well, picking up 3 wickets apiece.

The second half turned out to be misery as they bundled out for 134 and ended up losing the match by 47 runs. To strengthen their batting they brought Hazratullah Zazai in place of Karim Janat but that didn’t click. Their batting entirely revolves around Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, and Gulbadin Naib which isn’t a good sign. They have plenty of resources in their bowling department that need to be capitalized properly.

Australia are one of the three teams in the tournament to remain unbeaten and are inching closer to the Semi-Finals. They made a grand start to the Super 8s with a dominating win over Bangladesh in the rain-curtailed game. Mitchell Marsh and his side were 28 runs ahead of the DLS par score when rain interrupted the contest at 11.2 overs. David Warner who is Australia’s main man when it comes to ICC tournaments, scored his 2nd century in this edition while his fellow opener Travis Head played his part in the win with 21-ball 31 runs.

Earlier Pat Cummins made history by becoming the second Aussie bowler to take a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup that helped them to limit Bangla Tigers to 140 for 8. Marcus Stoinis is the other batter who has more than 150 runs in the tournament while Adam Zampa is their best bowler with 11 scalps. A win here will almost confirm their knockout qualification.
