Pre-Match Analysis:
India who remained unchanged in the USA leg of the tournament where they won 3 matches to top the Group A standings made their first tactical move owing to the Caribbean conditions and succeeded upfront in their Super 8 fixture with a win against Afghanistan by 47 runs. Kuldeep Yadav who replaced Mohammed Siraj, picked up 2 wickets and frontline seamers Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah claimed 3 wickets apiece to rip off the opposition batting for 134. Earlier No.1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav shined bright bringing up his 19th half-century and he got much-needed support from vice-captain Hardik Pandya who scored 32 where the duo put up a 60-run alliance for the 5th wicket.

After a late collapse, they settled for 181 for 8 at the end of 20 overs. Virat Kohli who departed for single-digit scores in the first 3 matches of the tournament recorded his highest score, making a run-a-ball 24 against Afghans. Despite not having a great show from Shivam Dube, they would still be keen to keep the same combination for this match.

Bangladesh who has a habit of toppling at the crucial stages in the ICC Tournaments, repeated the same show against Australia in their first Super 8 game and lost in the end by 28 runs (DLS method) after the rain interruption. After being asked to bat first, they settled for 140 for 8 in the stipulated 20 overs thanks to valuable contributions from skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto (41) and in-form batter Towhid Hridoy (40). David Warner and Travis Head’s explosive knocks damaged their bowling attack at the start. Australia were 100 for 2 when rain interruption took place at 11.2 overs and they were declared winners after there was no chance of further action.

They have one more tough game coming their way as they face inaugural champions India in their 2nd Super 8 fixture which will be a must-win for them to stay in the Semi-Finals race. They are expected to make at least one change for this match.
