Netflix Teases K-pop Anime That’s More Than Just a Musical Show



Netflix has announced an anime centring around a K-pop girl group, but it won’t be just an idol music show.

The anime, titled K-pop: Demon Hunters, was revealed in the streamer’s preview for 2024 and beyond. The show won’t just focus on the girl group’s idol members singing and dancing but will also feature them fighting demons, as suggested by the title. The show is currently in production and the title is tentative.

K-pop: Demon Hunters is directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, and produced by Michelle Wong. Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation are the studios behind K-pop: Demon Hunters.

According to Sony Pictures Animation, it is a “musical action adventure that follows the story of a world-renowned K-Pop girl group as they balance their lives in the spotlight with their secret identities as bad-ass demon hunters, set against a colourful backdrop of fashion, food, style, and the most popular music movement of this generation.”
