Among Us Leak Fuels Speculations Around a Possible Game Showcase Next Week

While originally planned for June, the Switch showcase could be happening sooner than expected, possibly next week. This unexpected change is due to an early announcement by Innersloth, the developers of Among Us. In May, Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, said they’d have a Nintendo Direct in June, like they do every year. This is when they showcase games coming to the Switch later in 2024. He also said they’d start talking about the next console in about nine months, but the rumored Switch 2 won’t be talked about in the upcoming live streams.

Furthermore, it appears that the upcoming Nintendo Direct is likely aiming for a stream on June 18th. This speculation rises from the recent incident involving a YouTube video related to an upcoming update for the popular multiplayer game Among Us. Which was uploaded and published ahead of schedule by mistake, and then was made private. This unexpected situation regarding the Among Us update has led many fans to speculate that it was intended to coincide with an announcement during the Nintendo Direct scheduled for June 18th.

On the other hand it might be that the video is for a standalone announcement. Innersloth has previously revealed updates in Nintendo Directs leading to the overall speculation . However, nothing is confirmed so far regarding the Nintendo Direct as it is all just speculation .
