Tata Play announced the launch of Anime Local, its dedicated anime channel, on June 11. The ad-free channel broadcasts anime in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam to Tata Play subscribers.
Anime Local is available for ₹2 per day on channel number 681 and features series such as Naruto, Sergeant Keroro, Ninjaboy Rantaro, Naruto Shippuden, Black Clover, Robotan, among others. These are the same shows broadcast on Sony YAY! and its partner channel with Airtel DTH, Anime Booth.

In addition to TV, the channel can also be streamed on the Tata Play mobile app. Tata Play Binge, which is Tata’s subscription service, added Animax in March 2024.
Another recent anime addition to an Indian streaming service is Anime Hub on JioCinema, which debuted in May. Unlike a traditional TV feed, Anime Hub is a dedicated section where subscribers can stream anime such as Demon Slayer Season 4, Spy x Family, Mob Psycho 100, and more.
