Star Wars Outlaws game length revealed
In an interview with VGC, Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty spoke about how they had decided “very early on” that the game would be approximately 25 to 30 hours long for the “golden path adventure” and 50–60 hours for the completionists. Gerighty thinks that this is a fair amount of time for players with a family and job. Gerighty added that this isn’t an “Assassin’s Epic” which has 200 hours worth of gameplay, which allowed them to “focus on detail” with “a smaller team” and execute something “manageable”.

Star Wars Outlaws was also compared to the likes of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series, with many players pointing out the similarities between both games. Gerighty stated in the same interview with VGC that Uncharted wasn’t “necessarily our reference point”, but it is still “such a wonderful game to be compared to though, so if you’re going to be compared to somebody, it might as we be the best in the industry”. Gerighty added that what Naughty Dog does is “absolutely brilliant”, but that “wasn’t the point of origin” for Star Wars Outlaws.

Moreover, Gerighty stated that the trailers and gameplay bits we have seen till now are just “an appetiser” for what’s in store for us. Gerighty revealed that their providers had stated that they need to get “one demo for all of the shows” that they will be doing this year. Additionally, all of these demos have to be “journalist-focused” which means it has to be “20 minutes, bite-sized, lots of variety, lots of representative systems” but it doesn’t include the “open world experience” as that is something they will showcase “during the studio tour, in the preview event over here”.
