What is the Pitch Report for AFG vs UGA, ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Group C, Match 5?
It’s a sluggish wicket as a piece of evidence the batters struggled a lot during the game between West Indies and Papua New Guinea. Spinners are the kings here as taking on them is not an easy task. There will be plenty of turn to offer and it will be interesting how the batters will counter the spin. At the moment, scores of anything more than is defendable.

Pre-Match Analysis:
Afghanistan are no longer the underdogs in the cricketing world following their impressive performances in the ICC Cricket World Cup held in the sub-continent last year where they finished 6th above England, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands. Rashid Khan and his men are bolstered by an excellent batting depth and an equally blended bowling line-up featuring mystery spinners and renowned T20 specialists. Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi come in as specialist all-rounders alongside Karim Janat. Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz will keep wickets for the team with Mohammad Ishaq as his backup.

The 20-year-old all-rounder Nangeyalia Kharote who made his debut earlier this year locked his place in the T20 World Cup squad. Rashid Khan will lead the side and he gets much-needed support from compatriots and mystery spinners Mujeeb ur Rahman and Noor Ahmad. Ibrahim Zadran and Najibullah Zadran are the only genuine batters in the line-up. Their form this year in T20Is isn’t that overwhelming, winning 4 out of 10 matches played.

Uganda made history, securing their first-ever T20 World Cup qualification after finishing as runners in the Africa region qualifier. On paper, they are a heavy bowling attack with plenty of match-winning spinners. The 32-year-old leg spinner, Brian Masaba will lead the side with Riazat Ali Shah as his deputy. Indian-born all-rounders Alpesh Ramjani and Dinesh Nakrani are the main pillars of the side. Warm-up results didn’t go their way as they lost to Namibia by 5 wickets while the other one against Scotland was called off at the halfway mark. Currently, they are ranked 22nd in the ICC T20I Rankings.
