Sony has submitted a PlayStation VR2 PC adapter for certification in South Korea as it looks to bring its virtual reality headset to more platforms.Spotted by X/Twitter user Brad Lynch, a filing on the South Korean National Radio Research Agency website plainly lists the “PlayStation VR2 PC adapter” but doesn’t offer any additional information. Sony has already announced plans to bring the headset to PC, however, and it may have found its solution to do so.”We’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5,” Sony said in February 2024. “We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.”Sony is certifying an adapter to allow PSVR2 hardware to work on PCs pic.twitter.com/JFQDJVW7NP— Brad Lynch (@SadlyItsBradley) May 29, 2024 While this certification is far from an official announcement, it does indicate Sony is on track to complete this plan to bring the PS VR2 to PC by the end of 2024.The $549 headset was released exclusively for the $500 PlayStation 5 in February 2023, meaning those who wanted to play it but had neither device had to spend more than a thousand dollars to do so.
