Krafton India Expands the First Cohort of its Gaming Incubator Program; Invites New Applicants to Join



Around 2 months ago Krafton announced that two gaming studios have been short-listed for the first cohort of the Krafton India Gaming Incubator program of (KIGI). The two studios include Nagaland-based ReDimension Games and Bengaluru-based Shura Games. Interestingly, their latest announcement has revealed that the first cohort of this program will be receiving an expansion, with more teams being invited in addition to the already selected ones.

The BGMI maker announced the incubator program back in 2023, introducing a way for the up-and-coming Indian game developers to acquire “mentorship, resources, and support”. Regarding the financial aspect of support, KIGI is ready to offer a substantial amount to help create and refine games. The financial support can vary from $50,000 to $150,000 depending on the project requirements, some exceptional cases could also fetch $250,000 as support. Interested teams can now apply to join the first cohort of the Krafton India Gaming Incubator Program.

Moreover, the applicants that are selected will get access to AppMagic, which is a toolkit helpful for conducting extensive mobile app market research and can be used for features like “competitive intelligence, product development, user acquisition, and lead generation.

On top of that, the selected teams will also have support in the form of cloud credits. Lastly, there will be three industry veterans who will act as mentors for the first cohort, they include Game Producer, Game Designer and Marketing Expert, Harns Kim, The Vice President and Creative Director at PUBG studios, Dave Curd and Product Head, Producer and Game Designer, Joseph Park.
