James Gunn Addresses Zack Snyder’s Excitement for the New DCU



Fans cannot wait for the projects from the new DCU to hit the big screen, with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm. At the moment, the fans are patiently waiting for the new DC Slate to come to fruition and until then we are at the mercy of Gunn to provide us with whatever information he can through his social media accounts. Recently, Gunn responded to Snyder’s comments on DCU, spoke about the cancelled Green Lantern show and posted something cool on Superman Day, learn more below.

Gunn Address Snyder’s Excitement for DCU
James Gunn recently posted an image on of himself along with his pet dog and cat on Threads, with the caption, “Taking a break the best way”. In the same thread, Gunn was asked whether he had heard about Snyder being excited for DCU, Snyder’s comment came through an interview with CBR. To which Gunn replied stating that he didn’t know, but “knew it already” as Snyder had texted him on this topic before. Gunn added stating that Snyder has been “incredibly supportive throughout the whole process”.

Gunn Talks About Cancelled Green Lantern Show
On the same post Gunn was also asked about what happened to the Original Lantern series that was being developed for the DCEU, which involved Finn Wittrock playing the titular character, the fan also stated that Wittrock might have been “done dirty”. Gunn responded stating that he didn’t think it was in the DCEU and was before his time. Gunn added that Finn is a talented actor and that he should be okay while speaking about “writers, directors, actors” having their projects fall through every day. Gunn concluded by stating that this has happened many times to everyone, but it doesn’t mean that anyone is being “done dirty”, and it is just a part of the job.

Gunn, David Corenswet and Rachel Broshanan Celebrate Superman Day
In other news, Superman actors David Corenswet and Rachel Broshanan along with James Gunn posted an image on Instagram of them reading Superman comics on Superman Day, which is celebrated on April 18 every year. Gunn had also added a caption that stated the following, “On this day in 1938 the first superhero entered our atmosphere via the imaginations of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
