Tilta Foldable Arca Baseplate Released




Tilta released a handy camera accessory: a foldable Arca baseplate. This baseplate allows you to flip your camera from vertical to horizontal within seconds without any tools. Whether you are shooting on sticks, a gimbal, or handheld, we all know how tricky it can be to mount your camera vertically. Image credit: TiltaTilta foldable Arca baseplate – featuresThe Tilta foldable Arca baseplate is made of aluminum and weighs only 69g/2.45oz. It measures 12,7 x 8,89 x 7,62cm/5 x 3.5 x 3in. Also, with a maximum payload capacity of 3kg/6.6 lbs, it is primarily designed for mirrorless or small cinema cameras such as the Sony FX3/FX30.Bottom of the foldable Arca baseplate. Image credit: TiltaAt the bottom of the baseplate, you’ll find a built-in four-way Arca-Swiss standard quick-release mount. At the center of the mount is a 3/8″-16 threaded hole with a 3/8″-16 to 1/4″-20 adapter, so you can attach another quick release to it if you’re not in the Arca ecosystem. According to Tilta, the baseplate is compatible with DJI’s gimbal Arca receiver and tripods.Image credit: TiltaOn top of the baseplate, you’ll find a 1/4″-20 screw that attaches to the bottom of your camera. On the side of the foldable Arca baseplate is a button to flip the top part 90° sideways. However, please note that there are no intermediate positions between 0 (horizontal) and 90° (vertical).The foldable Arca baseplate comes with a small screwdriver.
