Game Files Hints Towards Arrival on Steam Deck, Switch and More

Valorant is one of the most popular first-person shooters in the PC gaming world and has built its reputation through interesting gameplay and esports competitions. A lot of exciting details about the game have been revealed recently, such as the console port and the mobile port. On top of that, a new Valorant leak is on the same lines as the previous ones but suggests ports for even more devices such as the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch.

Spotted by Gameland.gg, X user that goes by the name XKLaboratories has revealed a bunch of code that has been uncovered for Valorant. This code shows us all the different types of platforms the game could be arriving on. The code includes mentions of Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, Windows, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox, with all of them having ‘mobile’. ‘desktop’ and console-specific labels next to them.

What’s interesting is that if the game is being ported for Linux-based systems, then a Steam Deck release gets almost automatically confirmed as it runs on SteamOS which is a Linux-based operating system. Coming to Switch, it seems unlikely that Riot would release Valorant for Nintendo’s current console and might just wait until their next-generation console is released. Now all we can hope for is crossplay functionality across these devices to make the community a whole lot bigger.

In the end, players should know that this is not official information, hence, they should consume it with a grain of salt. Even if this is true, the final decision of releasing the game on these platforms still rests in Riot’s hands, and this decision could change at any time.
