WWE 2K24 Has Censored Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar’s Faces in the Game; Details about Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition Revealed
WWE 2K24 released two days ago on March 5, 2024. This instalment is a special one for them, as they are celebrating 40 years of WrestleMania in this edition. However, the celebrations have been hampered a bit as two prominent wrestlers of the franchise have had their faces blurred in the game due to the real-world ramifications they are facing at the moment, learn more below.
For those who do not know, iconic WWE wrestlers, Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar were scrapped from the game’s roster at the last moment. This was done because the former is currently involved in a case that accuses them of sexual assault as well as trafficking, and the latter has been alleged to be involved in the same situation too. Due to that, not only have their faces been blurred, but they have been removed as playable characters in the game.

WWE 2K24 celebrates WrestleMania’s 40th Anniversary with some special moments in the game that retell the history through archived footage. However, Vince McMahon has seemingly been blurred in some but not all instances where he appears in the archival footage. One of the situations where he isn’t censored is during the Stone Cold Steve Austin versus The Rock match. A similar treatment has been followed for Brock Lesnar, and we don’t think the situation is going to change anytime soon until the duo are proven not guilty.
WWE 2K24 Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition
In other news, WWE 2K24 is now out and includes a variety of new features and improvements for players to try out. They have the 2K Showcase of the Immortals, which includes some iconic moments that will “seamlessly morph gameplay to live-action footage.” The game has a roster of more than 200 characters including Legends, Super Stars and even icons. There are four new match types, Special Guest Referee, Ambulance Match, Casket Match and Gauntlet Match.

Furthermore, MyRise career mode now has two new storylines, which include the women’s and men’s divisions. MyFaction and MyGM modes have also seen improvements all around. The creation suite has received new tools and support, there are DLC packs for characters like CM Punk, Iron Sheik, Mr Perfect and more. Lastly, the soundtrack for the title has been curated by the popular artist, Post Malone. The game has been released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
