With early server capacity issues fixed, Helldivers 2 fans are now getting to enjoy the third-person shooter without any unforeseen interruptions. With the focus now fully on liberating the universe through ‘managed’ democracy, the brave Helldivers are working hard to ensure that Super Earth wins the fight against the Automaton. Now, fans have theorized that the current Automaton onslaught seems to be heading towards a different planet than Super Earth.
A new theory has popped up on Reddit (spotted by Destructoid) that claims that the Automatons are not moving towards Super Earth but towards Cyberstan. After the recent fall of Malevelon Creek after players failed to liberate it, the Automatons were expected to move closer to Super Earth. Instead, the Automaton forces headed north towards Cyberstan, which increased suspicion among fans. For those unfamiliar, Cyberstan is the planet where the original game’s Cyborg faction is enslaved.
This theory is also supported by posts from Arrowhead Studios’ account from 2021 which featured secret binary, and after fans decoded it into Super Earth Language, it revealed a transmission that reads, “We, the collective from Cyberstan, unanimously assert our independence from Super Earth. We have the right to defend our home from the brainwashed Helldivers. Our children, the automaton, will not suffer as we have under the oppression of Super Earth!”
So, it may just be that Arrowhead Studios is finally spinning the narrative wheels for their game, now that the server issues have been dealt with. Meanwhile, a recent leak Helldivers 2 leak has revealed a look at the upcoming pilotable mech.
