Respawn’s Cancelled Mandalorian Game Planned To Include Bounty Hunting, ‘Boss-Like’ Enemies and More
EA was one of the recent companies that fell victim to layoffs which comprised 5% of their total workforce. This resulted in many of their projects being cancelled, with one being Respawn’s Star Wars Mandalorian game. We know that this project may not see the light of day, however, details about what the experience could have been have now surfaced online. Read more below.
According to a report by Insider Gaming, the upcoming title would be surrounding the story of a Mandalorian Bounty hunter, but not the Pedro Pascal one that we are all familiar with. The theme of the game would be ‘Bounty Hunting’ as that is what they are known for. This would mean that the player would have to go on missions across the galaxy to acquire their bounties.
It would be a fast-paced combat title that used weapons like shotguns, snipers, rockets and more, and there was some kind of takedown feature too for melee. The game would not be open world but would include large semi-open areas, probably just like what we have seen in their Star Wars Jedi series. The Mandalorian jet pack would be used for traversal and within this area, the players would have looked for their bounties.

While searching, the main type of foes you would battle were Stormtroopers as they would be seen patrolling these regions. At the same time, there were also going to be “boss-like” that could be in the shape of the creatures of that specific planet, a rival bounty hunter and even the bounty that you are pursuing. That is all we know about the game right now, it wasn’t close to releasing by any means, but the devs had finished some aspects of it. It was planned to be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
