And also, talk of Emperor Palpatine’s sex life, but don’t blame us for that.Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker answered a lot of questions surrounding the sequel trilogy, but raised just as many more, with one in particular revolving around the reveal that Daisy Ridley’s Rey is the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine. Basically: did Emperor Palpatine do it?During a new interview with Empire, actor Ian McDiarmid shared his own two cents on the subject of the villain’s sex life, and even he’s open to the idea that Palpatine might’ve banged.”But yes, he does [have sex],” he told the magazine. “It’s a horrible idea to think of Palpatine having sex in any shape or form. But then, of course, perhaps he didn’t.”Given the fact that Palpatine has sired children, you might be wondering why this is even a debate. But, as the article points out, Rey’s father was not the genetic offspring of Palpatine but rather a clone based on him. Of course, McDiarmid further theorized that there could be other reasons for the relation that do not pertain to Emperor Palpatine doing the deed. “Maybe it’s all to do with midi-chlorians – and don’t ask me what those are,” McDiarmid added. “Never trust your granddaughter. That’s the T-shirt Palpatine got made.
