Microsoft’s Xbox Removes Series X/S and Game Pass Logos from Avowed and Fable Store Listings; Hinting Towards Multi-Platform Release

Recent reports have put the gaming world in a frenzy as many now suspect that Xbox’s exclusive titles such as Starfield and others are going to become multi-platform games and Game Pass could become a multi-platform subscription too. Phil Spencer is going to clear the air for us on Monday, but ahead of that, new hints towards a multi-platform future for Xbox have started dropping.

Spotted by tech enthusiast, Zuby_Tech on X (formerly Twitter), their recent posts consist of images that reveal Xbox changing the descriptions for some of the store listings for their games. Game listings such as Avowed and Fable used to have Xbox Series X/S and Game Pass logos, but now they are gone, and instead says that the game is available on “Console and PC”. Moreover, the “Coming to Day One with Game Pass” text has also been removed.

Upon looking at other store listings, we found that these weren’t the only games that have seen this change, as listings for Starfield, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Age of Empires, Sea of Thieves, Doom Eternal, Deathloop, Fallout 76, State of Decay 2, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and Hi-FI Rush have also dropped the logos and only mention “Console and PC” now. The few listings that still have these logos are Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Psychonauts 2, Pentiment and Gears 5. This leads many to believe that this move has been made because these games could soon be arriving at different platforms.

What further strengthens this hunch is that another user spotted an intriguing change in the FAQs for Game Pass. Earlier, the answer to “What is Xbox Game Pass” question had the words “play on Xbox consoles, PC, mobile devices” and now it has been changed to “play on consoles, PC, mobile devices”. This leads us to speculate that the Xbox Store and the Game Pass subscription could become multi-platform, but we will only know for sure on Monday.
