Nintendo has not even acknowledged the existence of the rumoured console, which still has no official title or announcement attached to it. However, a recent report claims that the company is now gearing up to reveal the next-gen Nintendo hardware next month.
The report comes from Nate Drake (aka Nate the Hate), who is a highly reliable industry insider for Nintendo news and updates. Nate claimed on the latest Game and Talk podcast that “Nintendo will announce the Switch 2 in March (2024). Everything I’m hearing dating back to Gamescom last year has indicated something was happening in March. That talk has resurfaced in the past few weeks, and it is indicating that the Switch 2 is set for a reveal or an announcement in March.”
Nate, as he mentions, had heard back during Gamescom 2024 that something important related to Switch 2 would take place in March. However, he was not sure at the time if that would translate into a reveal announcement. Now, Nate is certain about the reveal in March 2024. Another reliable leaker, Necro Felipe, backed Drake’s claims on ResetEra as he wrote, “I see that team March will win after all.”
Furthermore, Felipe wrote in his report for Universo Nintendo that his sources have corroborated the March 2024 reveal that Nate mentioned. Felipe also added (translated via Google Translate) that his sources claim that “multiple development companies/publishing partners of Nintendo are preparing to announce their projects, and that several retail stores are moving to prepare the start of pre-sales of the system.” The announcement of projects from third parties may be at the Partner Direct that Nate mentioned in the podcast.
