Stormgate is now available to download and play on Steam in an open beta version. Over $2.2 million was raised for Stormgate in a Kickstarter campaign, so it’s fair to say that this is a highly anticipated title that will be a huge hit in 2024. It’s expected to be released later this year, and now the demo is available to play with DLSS 3. So, in terms of the gaming experience of this demo, you’re in for the real deal.
For those who aren’t aware, DLSS 3 enhances the game experience as it renders games at a lower resolution than your display’s native resolution, and then upscales this using AI. For example, if you were to choose 4K resolution with DLSS, the game would render in 1440p and upscale to 4K. So you can expect fluid and smooth visuals in Stormgate, even with this demo version, which features the latest iteration of DLSS technology.
Frost Giant Studios’ Stormgate is an up-and-coming game that’s free to play and evolves around strategy. Some of the developers involved have been a part of some highly-rated RTS games, such as StarCraft 2 and Warcraft 3. It was developed in Unreal Engine 5 and it takes things to another level in terms of its responsiveness and support for 4K visuals. In the demo, there are two factions still being developed that you can play, as you engage in huge wars across a wide range of maps. The next faction is expected to arrive in a future playtest. And the recent Kickstarter campaign, which was a huge success, adds to the massive hype surrounding Stormgate.
