Pre-Match Analysis:
Wellington Blaze looked a complete side in their first outing against Otago Sparks and earned a 23-run win. Georgia Plimmer top scored for the side with 41, while Rebecca Burns made a handy 20 at the top of the order. At the end of 20 overs, they put up a marginal 140 on the board and it was well enough to grab all important 2 points as their bowlers produced a stunning show in the latter half to keep Sparks for 117 on the board. Leigh Kasperek excelled, picking up 3 wickets and she got much-needed support from Amelia Kerr and Jess Kerr who got 2 wickets apiece.

Auckland Hearts paid a huge price for their poor batting show against Canterbury Magicians in the tournament opener and lost the match by 11 runs. They did an extraordinary job with the ball to keep Canterbury for a marginal 127 runs thanks to an inspirational show from Skye Bowden who returned with the figures of 4 for 18 in her 4 overs. The pressure of asking run-rate got to them in the second half as they managed to only 116 with still 3 wickets in hand. Maddy Green, Izzy Gaze, Fran Jonas, and Molly Penfold who missed the first game return to the Hearts squad for Saturday’s clash.

Both sides have a decent line-up and we can expect guaranteed entertainment in this match.
