Hunter x Hunter Fighting Game Is Being Made by Studio Behind Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

A Hunter x Hunter fighting game is currently in development by Eighting, known for its work on Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The game’s publisher, Bushiroad Games, officially revealed this news at the Jump Festa 2024 convention.

Additional details about the game will be announced during the Bushiroad Games segment of the Bushiroad New Year Grand Announcement 2024. This event is scheduled to take place at Tokyo Dome City Hall on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

Fans are thrilled about the news but are hoping that the game isn’t an arena fighter. Interestingly, a recent game based on an anime, Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash, is set to be an arena fighter. It is developed by Byking Inc. and Gemdrops, and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, and set to release on February 4, 2024.

Eighting is a Japanese video game developer recognised for its expertise in shoot ’em up and licensed fighting games. Alongside Marvel vs. Capcom 3, the studio has gained acclaim for creating titles like Bloody Roar and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. The latter notably featured characters from anime series produced by Tatsunoko Production.

Since Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga, Hunter x Hunter, began serialisation in March 1998, the series has spawned ten video games. However, all of these games have been exclusive to Japan. Additionally, characters from the manga have made appearances in various fighting games like Jump Super Stars, Jump Ultimate Stars, J-Stars Victory VS, and Jump Force.
