Genshin Impact’s social media accounts have introduced two new characters via drip marketing: Xianyun and Gaming, two characters from the region of Liyue.
Xianyun is technically not a new character, as she is actually the human form of Cloud Retainer, who is an adeptus residing on Mt. Aocang in Liyue and has appeared in a number of quests and events.

Xianyun

The descriptions of Xianyun revealed by HoYoverse depict her as possessing a witty and charming personality. As the human form of the Cloud Retainer, Xianyun retains her characteristic traits of being “inarticulate, reserved, and unyieldingly proud,” elements that players are already familiar with. Her mannerisms differ from those of ordinary people, leading them to perceive her as a heroine.

Gaming
Title: Leonine VanguardRegion: Liyue Occupation: “Sword and Strongbox” Transport GuardVision: Pyro Constellation: Leo Expergiscens
Gaming (pronounced Gaa Ming) drew attention due to the unique spelling of the name. The spelling resembles “gaming,” leading to numerous memes within the Genshin Impact community. Gaming serves as a Transport Guard at the Sword and Strongbox Secure Transport Agency, handling cargo deliveries and providing escort services. In his leisure time, he enjoys performing the Wushou Dance.

Genshin Impact is scheduled to launch version 4.3 on December 20, 2023. We can expect Xianyun and Gaming to join the game in the subsequent version, 4.4, which is estimated to be released around January 30. Additionally, this period aligns with the game’s Lantern Rite celebration, perfectly coinciding with the Lunar New Year festivities.
