Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 1 Blackcell and Battle Pass Details Revealed




Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 1 arrived on December 6, 2023, and with that players received a whole bunch of new content to try out. Through their latest blog post, Activision has just revealed the details for Blackcell as well as the Battle Pass for season 1. Interestingly, Raven has also revealed why Warzone’s new map has fewer players than normal, learn more below.

Season 1 Battle Pass and Blackcell Details
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warxone Season 1 are scheduled to receive a whole bunch of cosmetics, which includes operator skins, weapon blueprints and much more through the new battle pass. Also, a new Blackcell, Abolisher Operator along with free functional weapons is also up for grabs through the new battle pass. Through the battle pass, players can look forward to more than 100 rewards, some free functional weapons along with a new Aftermarket Part. The entire battle pass will cost the players a total of 1,100 COD points and this will provide players with all the season 1 content.

Players also have the option to purchase the Blackcell bundle, which features the new operator, 10 operator skins, a new finishing move, a battle pass and 20 tier skips, a vehicle skin, 6 weapon blueprints and 1,100 COD points. The value of this bundle is 7,000 COD as stated by Activision, but will cost the players only 1,400 COD Points. Raven Addresses the Decrease in Player Count for Warzone
On the topic of Warzone Season 1, a new map called Urzikstan has been introduced for the players featuring a battle royale game mode. However, for the new battle royale map, Raven Software has decreased the maximum player count to 100 from the original 150 players. Many players were confused about this decision and the developers have finally told us why.

According to Raven Software’s post on X (formerly Twitter),. this decision has been made to create “an optimal and fun experience” for all the players which is based on critical metrics. For those wondering, these “critical metrics” include “time-to-action, the map size of Urzikstan, new circle timings and sizes, total match time (20 minutes), red dots, contracts, and various new & existing second chance mechanics.” According to them, with these new inclusions, decreasing the player count helped offer the right balance for the multiple phases of the game. However, they will monitor community feedback and sentiments and make changes accordingly in the future.
