Ambient have added a new QuickPole ‘slim’ version to their popular QuickPole 5 series of boom poles. As with all other boom poles in this series, the QuickPole Slim is composed of a custom-made carbon fiber compound, but in answer to feedback from customers who favored the 4-segments in their QS line, one segment has been removed from the QuickPole Slim, making it both lighter and thinner. Let’s have a look. QuickPole Series 5 specsThe Series 5 is the fifth generation in Ambient’s ‘tube technology’, catering to industry professionals who need a lightweight and portable boom pole. These boom poles comprise a custom-made, carbon fiber compound with an added UHM fiber layer. The result is that Series 5 boom poles are now stronger than the QP Series and lighter than the QXS Series, effectively consolidating the strengths of both Series into a single boom pole. A simple quarter turn secures the boom pole. Image: AmbientAnother key feature of the Series 5 is the Teflon sheet with a proprietary silicone lubricant added to the felt, allowing for easy extension and retraction of the boom pole. As for locking, a simple quarter turn secures the boom pole, completely preventing lateral twisting.
